Sinto AGTOS blasting plant

About the company

Sinto AGTOS GmbH is a manufacturer of wheel blast machines founded in Emsdetten in October 2001, with its production plant in Konin, Poland.

In December 2024 the company joined the Japanese SINTOKOGIO group (the acquisition was completed by Sinto's subsidiary WINOA SA).

Industries served: automotive, machinery and their supplier industries; metal foundries such as grey iron, ductile iron and steel foundries; aluminium die-casting producers; forges; fastener manufacturers; surface hardening by shot peening; structural steel parts.

Technologies and services

Shot peening

Shot peening is mainly used for parts in the aerospace and automotive industries, including springs, drive shafts, crankshafts, gear wheels, connecting rods, steering and transmission parts and turbine blades. A residual compressive stress is generated in the component edge zone by plastic deformation; this work hardening increases the service life of the components, for example in terms of fatigue strength.

Data collection

For maximum cost transparency, machine utilisation and energy consumption are displayed and archived under real conditions.

High-performance turbines

Single-disc blast wheel with six plug-in throwing blades, available with blast wheel diameters of 350 and 399 mm and motors up to 22.0 kW.

Cartridge filter systems

A series of cartridge filter units developed especially for use with shot blast machines, contributing significantly to process reliability. Slide-in units simplify cartridge replacement.

Blasting pattern simulation

In many cases, suitable software makes blasting tests unnecessary and noticeably shortens the project period. Blasting intensity is visualised by colour coding.

Blasting abrasive

The desired result, e.g. cleaning, roughening or hardening, determines the choice of the appropriate blasting medium. The general principle: as coarse as necessary, but as fine as possible.

Technical centre

The technical centre at the Emsdetten headquarters has five very different blasting machines available exclusively for tests and more than 30 blasting media types; roughness measurements, Almen tests and abrasive analyses can be carried out there.

Service

Maintenance, spare parts, repairs and modernisation, as well as service contracts, remote maintenance and inspection. Many spare parts are also suitable for blast machines made by other manufacturers.
