Core Sand Preparation

The stringent quality requirements for foundry cores today demand specialised measures for preparing core sand tailored to core manufacturing processes such as Cold-Box, Hot-Box, Warm-Box and inorganic. KLEIN designs and delivers complete core sand preparation systems customised to specific needs. At the heart of these systems is the core sand mixer, supported by sand supply systems including temperature control and dust extraction, binder supply systems, the addition and dosing of powdered additives, core sand distribution, and storage and processing of coatings.

The STATORMIX offers a vertical drum with a proven and efficient mixing principle that delivers high mixing intensity. The intense spatial movement of the sand within a two-chamber system with an intermediate stator ensures effective mixing.

The batch vibration mixer SM operates without rotating parts in the mixing vessel — mixing is achieved solely through vibrations transmitted to the material by a special unbalance motor attached to the mixing container. The mixer compact unit combines the vibration mixer with a volumetric sand dosing unit, binder day tanks and a binder bellows dosing device in one compact system.
